Just because Activision are notorious for doing anything they can to milk that little bit of extra money out of us, specifically with Call of Duty and Guitar Hero where they’ve decided to put the price up and release a gazillion and one games in the series, respectively. It’s pretty ridiculous but as long as they keep publishing incredible games, we’ll keep paying incredible amounts of money. It’s a vicious cycle!
Get ready to eat Ramen noodles for a while once more as there’s been confirmation from a CEO of Activision that we’re going to see another Call of Duty as soon as next year.
Sounds crazy but I know I’m going to pre-order it.

The CEO, Eric Hirshberg, said that
In the back half of 2011, we are launching a new, large-scale Call of Duty FPS title
Large-scale, huh? To me that spells out Massive Multiplayer Online.
It would make perfect sense.
- There have been rumours about this for eons.
- The Call of Duty franchise is renowned for it’s amazing multiplayer modes
- It would allow Treyarch, who will be working on DLC for Black Ops, to take a break before they (possibly) make another Call of Duty game.
- It shows another way that Call of Duty is a diverse franchise, besides the fact that an Action-Adventure COD is being made.
Not only that, but the man known within the gaming universe as the most famous analyst ever, Michael Pachter, has said
We expect Activision to announce plans to monetize multiplayer online some time in 2011, and expect greater visibility into the release schedule throughout the year
Pachter knows his stuff. Trust me.
So there you have it, a new COD in 2011 that will most likely be an MMO. What would you like to see in the game? – Leave a comment!
