Little known fact : the games on iPod Touch and iPhone are actually really good.
Wasn’t expecting me to say that now, were ya?
Yes, well the games, despite their miniature size, are generally quite fun and offer something for more casual gamers looking for a quick thrill or for hardcore gamers, who are bored with the wonderful world of storylines so complex that you get migraines trying to comprehend them.
Every year, the good ol’ folks at Apple release a completely, 100% free app on the app store for iPhones and iPod Touches that will give you a free download every day, for 12 days, from the 26th of December.
I downloaded the app for my phone last year and got several music videos, 2 TV shows, a film and a game as well as some other awesome goodies. That’s why this year, I’ve downloaded the app again to nab some more freebies.
Click ‘Read More’ to find out why you should download it too.
2010 was undeniably was one of the best years for console games that this decade has seen but it was also a cracking year for casual games on iPhone and iPod touch too.
In this year alone, the critically acclaimed (and incredibly addictive) games ; Angry Birds, Doodle Jump, Cut The Rope and Game Dev Story were all released on the portable devices, ready and waiting to sap away your freetime and keep you entertained for hours on end. The fact that these were released on the app store makes them perfectly viable candidates for the iTunes 12 Days of Christmas giveaway.
FREE STUFF! Do you know what’s better than the pride you get after buying an incredibly cheap, yet incredibly fantastic game with your own money? Not paying for it and instead getting it for none of the cost. Even if you don’t get a great game that everybody has been talking about, you might walk away with a ‘Hidden Gem’ which is what happened to me in the iTunes 12 Days of Christmas last year when I got the surprisingly well-ported popular board game, Trivial Pursuit, for absolutely nothing.
The app doesn’t just give you the chance to get free games though. As mentioned, the app gives you free music, music videos, TV shows and even full-length feature films to download, which means that when you’re frustrated to the point of madness after playing Doodle Jump on your iPhone or iPod Touch, you can cool down by rocking out to a great song by the Foo Fighters.
Foo Fighters’ song Wheels was a downloadable freebie (including the music video for the track) in last years iTunes 12 Days of Christmas event.
So what are you waiting for? Get on the app store and search for ‘iTunes 12 Days of Christmas’ now!
