‘Will there be a Fallout 4’?’ and More of Your Questions, Answered

There are idiots on the Internet. You know it, I know it and *most* of the people on Yahoo Answers prove that statement to be true. Though once in a blue moon these idiots stop typing out words in L337 speak and ask some pretty thought-provoking stuff.

I’ve rounded up a few of the gems I’ve seen this week, complete with my own answers (note : I’m considering making this a regular feature so please tell me what you think of this post in the comments!)

“Should There be another Call of Duty Black Ops?”

Good question. My answer? Undecided.

Infinity Ward (responsible for Modern Warfare 1, 2 and 3) are usually at the reigns of the Call of Duty franchise (with their own strings being pulled by Activision, of course) and Treyarch are very much considered as ‘the B-Team’. They may not be quite as good as IW but they still pull some rather meaty punches. I think it would be in everybody’s best interests if they had another crack at COD, splicing up their past efforts to salvage multiplayer zombies and the deep storyline (albeit not as convoluted as their first go). I’d definitely enjoy playing that.

“What are you going to do if Rockstar put Justin Bieber songs in GTA V?”

I will not kill myself, I will not cry myself to sleep and I most certainly will not boycott the game.

Rockstar doesn’t always make the best choices when it comes to the in-game radio stations but most of the time they get it right. The lesbian lookalike tween heart-throb will most likely feature in GTA, he’s a symbol of pop culture, but I honestly don’t mind if Rockstar include him, as long as they include more of this.

“Will there be a Fallout 4?”

Yes, yes there will. Unfortunately it may be a couple of years from now until the full game sees the light of day but there’s no way that Bethesda would be set to put a perfectly aimed bullet to the series’ temple just yet ; it’s one of their biggest cash cows.

As I talked about last week, when Bethesda made a fool of themselves, they really need to go back to the drawing board with their game engine, it is fundamentally broken and will not hold up for much longer, especially when they will want (and need) to make their games bigger and better.

Will Fallout 4 see us returning to New Vegas? The game is unconfirmed (as of yet) but it could even see us testing our post-apocalyptic skills together, in an online MMORPG, but either way, it’s definitely not the last time you and I will journey out into the Fallout wastelands.

“Which Platform Should I Play Skyrim on?”

I’m just going to bring up my silly Bethesda post again, partly because I can and partly because I’m still bitter that the game is borked on PS3.

If you play it on PS3 it’s still a case of touch and go, you have to wish on your lucky stones and pray to the leader of whichever faith you follow that it will be stable enough to let you play for a few hours. Or you can play it on Xbox 360 where that version of Skyrim is held back by the limitations of Microsoft’s console.

This is a console blog but if I were you, I’d take the smart option and play Skyrim on PC where the bugs are present, but not game-breaking and the graphics leave the console visuals trailing in the dirt. Would you really want to miss out on all of this?
