Announced last month for PC, PS4 and Xbox One, Trapped Dead: Lockdown seemed like another bland zombie RPGs in a sea of better-looking zombie slashers. Admittedly, that put me off a bit but the upcoming game from developer Bigmoon Interactive Studios and publisher Headup Games makes up for not-so pretty graphics with RPG gameplay and a whole lot of story.
We’ll get to play as one of five different characters (butcher, marine, hitman, marshal and exorcist) who each have their own motivations of escaping this small, zombie infested, American town. There will be skill trees, vehicular combat and a handful of menacing zombie types. Find out more about Trapped Dead: Lockdown after the break.
Trapped Dead: Lockdown Will Feature Four Player Co-Op
It would be a massively missed opportunity if Trapped Dead: Lockdown didn’t have multiplayer co-op I suppose, but an official announcement confirms that co-op zombie killing will be available when the game launches in a few weeks’ time. There’s no mention of local co-op (a feature that a good many PC games seem to be lacking these days) but if you’ve got three other friends ready to go, you can at least team up with them online.
Additionally, the game isn’t listed on Steam just yet but once it is, you’ll be able to get the Trapped Dead: Lockdown 4-Pack which includes a copy of the game for you, three extra game keys for your friends and a copy of the original Trapped Dead game too. No word on pricing but hopefully that info will be revealed soon.
It has also been revealed that you’ll be getting your hands on “hundreds of weapons and items” and “more than thirty active and passive skills to learn at each of the five classes”. Some such weapons include guns, bludgeons, chainsaws and machetes. Or, when in doubt you can just mow them down with a car. These are all handy tools of destruction since we can also expect “tricky boss enemies, a multitude of different zombies, of which some even recover themselves by eating their own guts”.
Trapped Dead: Lockdown will be released on PC on March 20th, 2015. A release on PS4 and Xbox One is scheduled for sometime in 2015.
