There are few League of Legends champions as hated as Teemo. The tiny Yordle scout has darts dipped in poison, his mushrooms are a slowing, lethal menace and he is obnoxiously cute. Even people who play as Teemo can’t stand him; regardless of his brilliant skins.
Because of Teemo’s much-loathed status, many players have asked for the champion to be nerfed. Consider those requests firmly ignored, then, as Riot Games has now made several changes to Teemo’s abilities to make League of Legend‘s most annoying champion even more OP.
League of Legends: Teemo Goes OP
While you may think that it’s impossible for Teemo to get any worse, the update, which is now in testing on the PBE (Public Beta Environment), outpaces all expectations. For example, Teemo is now able to throw his mushrooms instead of placing them. And not only that but these mushrooms can actually bounce off of one another, they have a stupendous range (300/600/900 up from 230) and the time between placing them is now just 0.25 seconds, down from 1 second.
One the bright side, traps still have to be armed (they now take 1.5 seconds to arm, up from 1 second), they now only last for 5 minutes instead of 10, and they can also be destroyed now too (two melee hits, three ranged). But given that Teemo is both sneaky and fast, these new stats mean very little to his victims
Speaking of Teemo’s sneakiness, his passive camouflage ability has also been tweaked. Previously, it took 2 seconds for Teemo’s camouflage to activate but now it only takes 1.5 seconds. In the brush, however, it takes just 0.75 seconds to go camouflage and Teemo can move around freely without breaking his stealth. Additionally, Teemo’s ‘Element of Surprise’ (which he gains when breaking his camouflage) now gives him an attack speed bonus of (10 + [5 x level])%, previously that bonus was a flat rate of 40%.
While the changes to Teemo are only on the PBE for now, they may go live with patch 5.15. Changes on the PBE aren’t final and may be tweaked slightly before release, but assuming that Riot is happy with the changes, we should be seeing the new Teemo on the live servers soon.
Are you a Teemo player who is happy with the changes? Or are you terrified that Riot is making him even more OP? Leave a comment and let us know.
