League of Legends patch 5.14 was absolutely huge. Not only did it introduces a whole host of new, pirate-y skins (such as Captain Fortune and Cutpurse Twisted Fate) but it also ushered in the new Black Market Brawlers game mode, the Butcher’s Bay ARAM map, and Bilgewater: Burning Tides, the story event that offers challenges for special icons. There were also huge champion reworks for Miss Fortune and Gangplank.
League of Legends patch 5.15 may seem small in comparison then, but it does introduce more champion updates, more skins and interface changes which should make the download (and the downtime) worthwhile. Find out the patch 5.15 release date after the break.
League of Legends Patch 5.15
Riot has announced the patch 5.15 release date as August 5, 2015. Here’s the maintenance notice for League of Legends‘ North American servers:
“On 8/5/15, starting at 1:30 PDT, ranked queues will be disabled in preparation for patch 5.15. At 3:00 PDT, the servers will be shut down and all games currently in progress will end in a draw and stats will not be recorded. We estimate the battlegrounds will be unavailable for 6 hours.”
The EUW servers will go down at 4AM GMT and the EUNE servers will go down at 2AM GMT + 1.
Here’s what patch 5.15 will include (contents of the patch are subject to change and this list, while highly likely, may not be final).
- Teemo Champion Update: As we reported last week, Teemo has gotten a frightening new rework. Beginning in patch 5.15, the tiny Yordle terror will be able to throw and bounce his mushrooms and make them go farther, his Camouflage passive now activates a lot quicker, while Teemo’s Element Of Surprise (the attack speed bonus he gets after leaving Camouflage) now scales too.
- Fiora Champion Update: Teemo isn’t the only one to get a rework in patch 5.15 as Fiora’s been altered too. In addition to her new look, Riot has tweaked her kit so that she’s not just good at killing. Her killing abilities have also become a bit more balanced. Here’s the official rundown on that.
- Skins and Chroma Packs: In addition to the Cottontail Fizz skin that you can see above, patch 5.15 also includes chroma packs for Cassiopeia, Koi Nami and Dragonslayer Vayne.
- HUD Update: Patch 5.14 introduced the new HUD update, which was meant to make League‘s gameplay smoother and more focused. Patch 5.15 builds on that, improving the HUD with a new font/styling, larger displays for ping and FPS, larger stat icons and text, new colours that show the difference between ‘on cooldown’ and ‘out of mana’, and more. The HUD update will also be rolled out to ranked. Here’s a list of all the changes.
