The Sims 4 has gotten plenty of content this year, with a handful of free updates as well as paid-for DLC (e.g the upcoming Sims 4 Cool Kitchen Stuff pack), but EA isn’t done. Ahead of Gamescom 2015 in Germany, EA promised that The Sims 4 would show its face during their press conference, for an announcement that would blow our socks off.
While many people expected to see The Sims 4 Pets, the big Sims 4 announcement was actually the reveal of The Sims 4 Get Together expansion pack. The Sims 4 Get Together will be released later this year, and you can find out more about it after the break.
The Sims 4 Get Together Expansion Pack
The Sims 4 Get Together is the game’s second expansion pack after The Sims 4 Get to Work, which focused on careers, so it’s fitting that Get Together focuses on the more social element of the game. In The Sims 4 Get Together we’ll get to visit a ‘European-inspired world’ called Windenburg which has a variety of different settings within it, including countryside, a town square, and even a “luxurious” island. It also has a mix of modern and classic architecture, buildings and styles, so it sounds like there’s something for everyone.
There’s also a lot to do, gameplay-wise. EA explains that The Sims 4 Get Together will allow your Sims to join Clubs. These Clubs “have defined behaviors that dictate how they tend to act, including how they treat other Sims, and what they do or don’t like to do” and they also have their own interests, personalities and styles. There will be some Clubs available as soon as you fire up the expansion, but you can also create your own, choosing their behaviour requirements, preferred hangout spots and you can even “give them distinct rewards”.
The Sims 4 Get Together will also let you go to the Natural Pools for a dip in the water, you can go to the pub, you can play games of foosball, and you can try on new outfits in the new walk-in closet. Or, your Sims can learn the new Dancing and DJing skills, “creating the perfect mix on the DJ booth, or start busting out some new dance moves in an Underground Disco”.
The Sims 4 Get Together expansion pack will be released in November, 2015 on PC and Mac.
