Ever since The Sims series began, the kitchen has been a key gameplay hub. Sims players have been able to gather ingredients (such as growing their own vegetables or going fishing) for years and oven malfunctions have always been a popular way of killing Sims off. Plus, the dinner table was a great way for your Sims and their roommates to get to know each other.
So there was lots to cheer about when EA officially announced The Sims 4 Cool Kitchen Stuff pack, which includes a variety of visual and gameplay features for your Sims’ kitchens. The DLC is out today and a brand new trailer has also been released. Watch it after the break.
The Sims 4 Cool Kitchen Stuff
As detailed in that trailer, the main feature of The Sims 4 Cool Kitchen Stuff is its brand new ice cream maker. With the ice cream maker, your Sims will be able to make ice cream, gelato and soft serve in 30 different flavours, with some of those flavours changing your Sims’ completely, such as making them breathe fire or turning them into a Poison Ivy-esque plant person. There’s also some added variety with toppings, with bananas, whipped cream and sprinkles all available.
And, as we previously reported, players who also own The Sims 4 Get to Work expansion will be able to sell these various frozen dairy products in their stores. Get to Work already allows you to run your own bakery, so ice cream could get Sim NPCs flocking through the doors of your food emporium.
The Sims 4 Cool Kitchen Stuff wouldn’t be a stuff pack if it didn’t have lots of new items, either. There will be plenty of new, casual threads for your Sims to dress up in, keeping them looking laidback, but still fly as they’re eating ice cream or chowing down on a home cooked meal with their families. And there are decor items too, so you can give your kitchen, as well as your Sims, a total Cool Kitchen makeover.
The Sims 4 Cool Kitchen Stuff pack is now available on PC and Mac via EA’s Origin game client. It costs $9.99.
