Although the Batman: Arkham Knight PC controversy has dominated negative headlines about the game, its DLC has also caught a bit of flak too. With Harley Quinn’s pre-order DLC, Rocksteady Studios unfortunately glossed over her relationship with Poison Ivy and it didn’t offer anything particularly new. Then, A Matter of Family, Batgirl’s prequel DLC, was criticised for being far too short and not at all worth the money.
This obviously wasn’t the reception that Rocksteady was looking for with the game’s additional content, especially not with all the recent concerns that comic book women don’t get enough of the spotlight. But perhaps the third time’s the charm as Batman: Arkham Knight will soon be getting some more story-based DLC called Catwoman’s Revenge.
Batman: Arkham Knight Catwoman DLC
In Catwoman’s Revenge, Batman: Arkham Knight players will be able to play as the part-time Batman antagonist and love interest. The DLC takes place after the events of the game and it sees Catwoman settle a score with Riddler. Warner Bros. has been light on information but we do know that Catwoman’s Revenge will be released sometime in October.
Also out in October is the Crime Fighter Challenge Pack #3 and the Batman Classic TV Series Batmobile Pack. In Crime Fighter Challenge Pack #3, players will “receive various combat and predator maps featuring Batman, Nightwing, Robin, and Azrael”, while the Batman Classic TV Series Batmobile Pack includes a new 1960s skin for the Batmobile, classic TV skins for Catwoman and Robin, as well as “two racetracks inspired by the Batman Classic TV Series”.
If October seems ages away, then Crime Fighter Challenge Pack #2 and GCPD Lockdown will be available next week, from September 29. Challenge Pack #2 includes “various challenge maps for Batman, Nightwing, Robin, Catwoman and the Batmobile”, while GCPD Lockdown is set after the events of Batman: Arkham Knight and sees you playing as Nightwing as he tries to stop the Penguin from breaking out of jail.
Additionally, the 2008 Tumbler Batmobile Pack is out today, allowing you to drive around in the Batmobile from The Dark Knight movie on two “movie-inspired tracks”. You can also drive it around the streets of Gotham if you’ve destroyed all of the drones.
Which piece of Batman: Arkham Knight DLC do you like the sound of the most? Do you think that Rocksteady can get it right with Catwoman’s Revenge? Leave a comment and let us know.
