In 2015, few Sims 4 players would complain about a lack of content as EA has bolstered the game with a series of free game updates and paid-for expansions and game packs. Just a few examples include the career-focused expansion Get to Work, the Luxury Party Stuff content pack and most recently, Get Together, which gives players a chance to get social.
But what’s new for The Sims 4? And which new content drops and expansion packs will 2016 introduce? With the new year right around the corner, speculation is rife and a fresh leak from The Sims 4‘s lead character artists even suggests that The Sims 4 Pets expansion pack is in the works.
The Sims 4 Pets Lead Character Artist Leak
This fresh suggestion of The Sims 4 Pets comes from the professional profile of Steve Rheinfrank, The Sims 4‘s lead character artist. Rheinfrank recently updated the profile and it now mentions an “untitled project” which involves “Visual and technical exploration of characters, animals and creatures” with the most likely explanation being a pet-themed expansion pack.
That’s not all we have to go on with regards to The Sims 4 Pets, however, as there have been a series of teasers and leaks that date all the way back to 2014. A post on French Sims site SimCookie notes that EA polled fans on animal content (such as cats, dogs, lizards and rodents) in March, 2014 which suggested that the company was considering the idea, even other expansion packs were the pipeline.
Moreover, The Sims’ official German Facebook page asked fans ‘what would make a good Pets expansion’, a post on the official Sims blog shows a doctor in the Get To Work expansion thinking about dogs and there are also some pet-themed items in The Sims 4 base game. So it’s little surprise why fans are expecting an official announcement in 2016.
Are all of these Sims 4 Pets hints just a coincidence? Or do you think EA is really working on a new ‘Pets‘ expansion pack? Leave a comment and let us know.
