When Telltale Games detailed mini-series The Walking Dead: Michonne, the developer promised that the three episode spin-off would tell Michonne’s “untold story”. It would also explain what happened to her between issues #126 and #139 of The Walking Dead comic and would guide players through a tale of “unimaginable loss and regret”.
While the series is far from over, the reception to The Walking Dead: Michonne’s first episode, In Too Deep, has been incredibly mixed with some players saying that this is far from Telltale’s based work. Players will be hoping that The Walking Dead: Michonne episode two can make up for the first episode’s missteps when it’s released later this month – find out more about the episode after the break.
The Waking Dead: Michonne Episode 2 Give No Shelter Release Date
Episode two, Give No Shelter follows on from the events of In Too Deep (Michonne joins The Companion ship and they find the site of a “horrific massacre”. In a spoiler-free description of the second episode posted on the Telltale blog, Telltale Games explains:
“In this tense second chapter, a daring escape from the floating colony of Monroe sees Michonne, Pete, and Sam running for their lives. An all too brief reprieve is soon shattered; the leaders of Monroe don’t forgive and don’t forget. With memories of her daughters bleeding ever further into Michonne’s blurred reality, her world is becoming increasingly fractured… just at the point when she’ll need all of her skills to survive.”
As mentioned, players who’ve gotten through the first episode of Michonne’s story have some grievances, including the fact that the first episode was far too short with a play time of around 90 minutes. The aging game engine (the Telltale Engine) is also a big issue, with some players saying that the graphics feel ‘dated’ and some aren’t impressed with the choices players can make, either. Most seem to agree that the story is good, though, so hopefully Telltale will build on this in the second episode.
The Walking Dead: Michonne episode 2 Give No Shelter will be released on March 29 on PC, Mac, PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, iOS and Android.
