BioWare confirms that Mass Effect: Andromeda will not have a season pass for its downloadable content. The company also reveals that PC and Xbox One users can play the game earlier than those on PS4.
The information follows other recent announcements regarding the upcoming sci-fi RPG, as the Mass Effect: Andromeda release date was recently confirmed alongside a new gameplay trailer.
Mass Effect: Andromeda Season Pass, Early Access Details

Asked by a fan on Twitter whether or not Mass Effect: Andromeda will have a season pass, BioWare general manager Aaryn Flynn stated “nope.” Though, when the fan asked about Mass Effect: Andromeda story or multiplayer DLC and whether it would be free instead, Flynn said that BioWare “will talk more about that later.”
While season passes are common with games that feature DLC, they’ve also been a source of controversy with Bethesda catching flak for raising the price of Fallout 4‘s season pass, while Minecraft: Story Mode‘s season pass disc also saw backlash. In choosing not to go the season pass route, BioWare will avoid any potential ire from fans.

Also to the delight of Mass Effect fans is the announcement that Mass Effect: Andromeda will be available a few days ahead of its official release date. As part of EA Access and Origin Access, the paid-for Xbox One and PC (respectively) subscription programs, gamers will be able to play the game early.
Unfortunately, it’s unclear exactly how early fans will be able to get their hands on Mass Effect: Andromeda, and it’s not clear what that early access gameplay will include either. On Twitter, the game’s producer Michael Gamble explained that only “a portion of the game” would be available though he didn’t elaborate on exactly what content people would have access to.
Mass Effect: Andromeda will be released on March 21 (NA)/March 23 (Europe) on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
