A community modder uncovers code that seems to be for The Sims 4 Pets expansion pack. The code makes several references to animals, highly suggesting that fans’ much-requested DLC is currently in development.
The expansion pack code was found in the game following a recent Sims 4 patch that finally added toddlers to the game.
The Sims 4 Pets Expansion Pack Code
According to Sims Community modder Zerbu, several lines of code can now be found in the game (XML code in the ““relationships.relationship_tracker_tuning” XML resource.)
These new pieces of Sims 4 code include references to cats and dogs, both small and large, also suggesting that they can be picked up by Sims. Horses are also mentioned, though as the uncovered code may be incomplete, it’s also possible that horses will not feature in the final version of The Sims 4 Pets expansion.
Here’s an example of some of the code:
<T ev=”3″>Alien Pollinator</T>
While this isn’t necessarily a confirmation that The Sims 4 Pets expansion pack is in the works, this wouldn’t be the first time that the DLC has been hinted at. There was mention of some Sims 4 Pets-related work on the lead character artist’s professional profile, while an official survey sent out by EA also asked players about an expansion pack with cats, dogs, horses, also giving players the ability to play as those pets.
Unfortunately, it could be some time before EA officially announces The Sims 4 Pets. The Sims 4 Vampires game pack is set to release later this month, while The Sims 4 Bowling Stuff pack is also set to launch sometime between now and March. Officially, there are no other plans for DLC to launch in the first quarter of 2017, so fans may have to wait until April or later to get their hands on the expansion pack.
