Magic Notion announces that Kitty Powers’ Matchmaker is coming to PS4 and Xbox One. The dating sim sees players running a dating service and matching characters to potential soulmates.
Kitty Powers’ Matchmaker was previously released on PC and mobile, with the game being praised for its rude humour and the fact that it features gay, lesbian and bisexual characters, allowing players to matchmake same-sex couples.
Kitty Powers’ Matchmaker Announced for PS4 and Xbox One
Developer Magic Notion confirms that Kitty Powers’ Matchmaker will be released on PS4 and Xbox One on February 7. This console release of the game will feature an updated avatar system and dynamic dialogue, says a press release, with the gameplay and some of Kitty Powers’ quips featuring in the new trailer for the game (above.)
Magic Notion’s game director, Richard Franke says that:
“Kitty Powers’ Matchmaker isn’t just a fun dating sim, it’s also really about love being for everyone, regardless of gender, sexuality, hair colour or penchants for giant robot anime (Miaow!). We were overwhelmed and humbled by the positive response of Kitty Powers’ Matchmaker on the smaller screen, and are so excited to bring it to a wider audience on PS4 and Xbox One.”
In our own Kitty Powers’ Matchmaker review (for the PC release), we praised the various mini-games on offer, also saying that the game made us “laugh out loud.” We also praised the fact that the game is inclusive in a sea of heterosexual-only dating sims.
However, we rose concerns that finding the perfect match for clients was confusing at times as it wasn’t clear which traits would match up well with other. The lack of an ‘end-game’ was also criticised as the follow up reports, which tell players how their matched couples are doing, were “underwhelming.”
Nonetheless, it is positive to see one of PC and mobile’s funniest, most LGB-friendly games is coming to consoles and we look forward to Kitty Powers’ Matchmakers‘ PS4 and Xbox One release.
