At E3 2017, Until Dawn developer Supermassive Games announced Hidden Agenda for PS4. Hidden Agenda is a detective game with two female protagonists and will be released exclusively on the Sony platform.
Hidden Agenda is Like Heavy Rain With Two Female Protagonists
Hidden Agenda is a “gritty crime thriller” that puts players in the shoes of two women who are trying to catch a serial killer. The dual female protagonists of this title are homicide Detective Becky Marnie and District Attorney Felicity Graves.
The killer that they are trying to catch is called The Trapper. He’s one seriously sinister man as he kills people before setting up traps on the victims. These traps are designed to kill the first responders.
But Hidden Agenda is more than just a casual crime-solving caper as Supermassive explains that “your choices really, really matter” and characters can live or die based on the players’ choices, says the developer. It also seems as though the game is heavily inspired by Quantic Dream’s Heavy Rain as that also focused on choices and had a story based around a serial killer too.
The other selling point of this PS4 exclusive is that it’s part of Sony’s social gaming PlayLink program. The ‘hidden agenda’ that the game’s title refers to is about a type of cards in which players are given a secret objective to carry out without the other players realising. The other players must try to figure out said hidden agenda and prevent it from happening.
The game can be played solo but Supermassive says that you will want to play the game as a group. Hidden Agenda apparently builds on Until Dawn and the way that players streamed those games and discussed tactics and storylines to get through it, so those who loved experiencing jump scares and mysteries with their pals in that game should enjoy this too.
Hidden Agenda will be released in 2017 on PS4.
