Pillow Fight Games reveals the Ghosts of Miami release date. The company confirms that its inclusive visual novel will be bringing romance and mystery gameplay to PC and Mac next month.
Ghosts of Miami Release Date Announced
Pillow Fight Games confirms that Ghosts of Miami will be released on August 17 for Windows PC, Mac and Linux. In addition to English, the game will also be available with Spanish and Traditional Chinese language support (including subtitles) and full controller support will be offered too.
If you aren’t hip to the game yet then here’s a quick explainer: Ghosts of Miami is a gorgeous, neon-coloured visual novel set in 1980s Miami. Players are Chelo Martinez, a woman of colour who has just dived headfirst into the dangerous world of private investigation. Over the course of the game, Chelo will be involved in locating missing people, investigating murders and the disappearance of her own father.
But when she’s not interview suspicious witnesses and hunting for clues, Chelo can also get her romance on, with both male and female love interests promised. In a previous interview about the game, the game’s writer and producer Jo Fu told me that Chelo’s love interests just reflect the diversity of Miami.
Ghosts of Miami isn’t afraid of tackling the darker side of things either, with drugs and the AIDs crisis two topics that the game won’t shy away from. Neon tinge and all, the development team has clearly done their due diligence in researching Miami’s culture and its history. Historical accuracy isn’t necessarily one of the back of the box selling points of the game, but it looks to give players a feel for what it might have been like being a Miami-based investigator back in the day.
