Glass Bottom Games reveals the first Spartan Fist gameplay trailer. The clip shows female protagonist Emma Jones punching the pixels out of enemies in a bloody arena.
The developer also reveals that it has partnered with IndieFund to gain funding for Spartan Fist development.
Debut Spartan Fist Gameplay Trailer Revealed
The very first Spartan Fist gameplay, which is just under a minute long, sees detective Emma Jones take on enemies in the game’s procedurally generated arenas. She quite literally punches them until they explode, with their heads popping off and spurts of cubic crimson spurting from their bodies.
Players can employ mighty uppercuts, powerful forward dashes and giant leaps in the air to outmanoeuvre and defeat their opponents. In addition to gaining fame and fortune, Spartan Fist‘s protagonist is also aiming to get the titular gauntlet. By the looks of it, she will also be able to pick up some other fists on the way.
In related news, Glass Bottom Games has also confirmed that it is working with IndieFund to fund the game. In an email, the game’s designer Megan Fox explains that “[IndieFund’s] financial terms are also very fair in that if a game is a big hit, the studio itself gets significantly more of the pie than it would in other scenarios.”
Fox also explains that this “leaves small indies like us more able to self fund our next game, or be in a position to help others in the same way.” With Spartan Fist pencilled in for a 2018 release, it seems unlikely that Glass Bottom Games is thinking too far beyond that launch just yet. But even so, it’s positive to know that if a Spartan Fist 2 was on the cards, the developer will be in a good position to make it.
Spartan Fist will be released in 2018 on Windows PC, Mac and Linux.
