Ubisoft reveals a brand new Assassin’s Creed Origins trailer at Gamescom 2017. The new video stars several key figures from Ancient Egyptian times including Cleopatra, the Queen of Egypt and one of the most famous women in all of history.
Assassin’s Creed Origins was announced at E3 2017 and promises to make full use of its sprawling, Egyptian setting.
Assassin’s Creed Origins Will Include Cleopatra, Ptolemy and More
Debuting during the Xbox Gamescom event, the three minute CGI trailer gives fans a hint at the historical hijinks that lead character Bayek may get up to when Assassin’s Creed Origins launches later this year. The footage includes Ptolemy, Julius Caesar and Cleopatra but it’s unclear exactly what their roles in the game will be.
Previous Assassin’s Creed games have seen players assassinate key figures (such as the Borgias) but players have also been given missions from some of them too (such as Leonardo da Vinci.) It’s unclear whether Bayek will be at odds with Cleopatra and co. but we’ll certainly relish the chance to interact with the Queen of Egypt.
The trailer concludes with Bayek taking on one of the masked figures who shows up throughout the trailer. With a hail of arrows, Bayek is able to take out the masked enemy and the group of guards protecting them. At this point it’s not known what nefarious deeds these masked figures are up to but as they seem to be pulling the strings of Egypt’s leaders, fans can expect them to feature heavily throughout the game.
Assassin’s Creed Origins will let players climb anywhere and also includes hallucination gameplay as Bayek is affected by the elements. Combined with tomb raiding and the historical adventuring hinted at in this trailer, the upcoming title could provide players with their dream Egyptian Assassin’s Creed adventure.
Assassin’s Creed Origins will be released on October 27 for Windows PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
