PS4 exclusive Hidden Agenda gets an October release date. Publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Supermassive Games confirm that the crime thriller will be released in time for Halloween.
Hidden Agenda was announced at E3 2017 and was one of several female-led games to be showcased during the event.
Hidden Agenda Release Date Confirmed
The Hidden Agenda release date has been confirmed as October 24 in North America and will be released on October 25 in Europe. The PS4 exclusive will be available as a digital download or as a boxed retail title.
One of the less hyped titles at E3 2017, Hidden Agenda focuses on two female protagonists, homicide Detective Becky Marnie and District Attorney Felicity Graves. The two women are involved in the high profile case of The Trapper, a serial killer who targets first responders by setting deadly traps at crime scenes.
When it was first announced, Hidden Agenda was compared to Quantic Dream’s iconic PS3 exclusive Heavy Rain, as both games focus on serial killers and because they both offer quick-time events and tons of player choices. But the biggest difference between the two is that Hidden Agenda offers multiplayer functionality through the PlayLink program.
PlayLink is a social gaming app on mobile devices that will let up to six players player the game together. Cards are doled out to the group and could include some sort of secret task that one of them must complete. The other players must work to figure out what that secret objective is and must try to stop it from happening.
The game can be played single player but the PlayLink features could make Hidden Agenda one chilling party game. As Supermassive Games has proven its ability to make thrilling, horror titles that get people talking (the developer also made Until Dawn) it could strike a cord with PS4 players, whether they’re alone or in groups. October can’t come soon enough.
