The Sims 4 Cats and Dogs will introduce lots of new gameplay features and locations for players, including a new place for Sims to WooHoo. Other new additions include a new career and players can also make their pets invincible too.
The Sims 4 Cats and Dogs Include Invincible Pets
During a recent Q&A session, The Sims 4 Cats and Dogs team showed off the lighthouse location in Brindleton Bay, the new world included in the expansion pack. Although players cannot see inside of the lighthouse, their characters can travel to it via boat and players can select the ‘Woohoo’ interaction. Woohooing in the lighthouse triggers and impressive lights show.
The Sims 4 developers also confirmed that cats and dogs can only die from old age. And although cats and dogs age much quicker than their human counterparts, turning off aging for human Sims will also disable it for their furry companions. It stands to reason then, that players could create pets that don’t die.
Though, that’s not to say that the game’s cats and dogs will always be healthy, as The Sims 4 Cats and Dogs also introduces veterinarian clinics. Players can purchase a vet clinic, hire (and fire) staff, diagnose what’s wrong with the cats and dogs and charge for treatment (e.g a ‘cone of shame’ and using parasite killing spray). Sims can also increase their ‘vet skill.’
Other tidbits include ‘pet services’ which will see a pet permanently removed from a Sim household if their owners neglect them. Pets may even run away from home – and in doing so there is a chance that they could fall pregnant. Though it should be noted that they will eventually come back and players can speed up the return process by posting a message on a Sims’ social media (Simstagram).
Overall, the DLC sounds pretty extensive and should hopefully deliver everything that fans have been hoping for. The Sims 4 players have complained for some time that the DLC schedule is lackluster but this forthcoming expansion seems to offer plenty to keep fans entertained.
The Sims 4 Cats and Dogs will be released on November 10, 2017 on Windows PC and Mac.
