CocoBear reveals that its gay social RPG Gaydorado will be released on mobile devices later this month. The game promises gay romance gameplay and narratives as well as player versus player (PvP) combat and social features.
Gay Mobile Game Gaydorado is Heading West
After releasing the game in China, CocoBear has announced that Gaydorado will be available on iOS and Android devices in the West later this month. The game will be available to download for free in English-speaking countries, though it’s unclear whether CocoBear plans to release the game in any other, non-English speaking Western regions.
CocoBear describes Gaydorado as a “social RPG, dress-up and mobile story game hybrid” that has been developed with gay players in mind. As such, the game promises “romantically charged narratives between men,” and there are several characters to meet throughout the game, with multiple chapters to unlock.
Screenshots and official artwork suggest that there isn’t much racial diversity in the game and each character pictured has a substantial amount of muscle too. These images may not be reflective of the full game but it seems that Gaydorado is not as inclusive as something like Eldet, or Dream Daddy.
When Gaydorado players aren’t making eyes at the macho man of their dreams, there is also fashion and PvP combat gameplay to take part in. There are “hundreds of chic, fashionable and high-fashion clothing items” to dress avatars in (including a fireman and pilot outfit if you love a man in uniform), while the PvP combat lets you train in the gym before taking to the arena to battle other players.
There’s an increasing number of dating games focused on or being inclusive of same-sex relationships. For example, we recently covered romance game platform Lovestruck and last year saw the huge success of Dream Daddy. It’s positive to see that more developers are catering to LGBTQ players and we look forward to seeing what the full release of Gaydorado offers.
