Hidden Gems of the Gaming World : Age of Zombies

Age of Zombies is this week's Hidden Gem of the Gaming World

You’d be forgiven for leaving your PSP in the darkest corner of a cupboard, unused and accumulating more dust than a Dyson vacuum cleaner.

I haven’t bought a game for my PSP in ages and it only gets used when I’m either incredibly bored, on a long car journey or if my iPhone (God forbid) runs out of battery or goes on the fritz.

New gadgets, new gizmos and a whole lot of distractions (Twitter, I’m talking to you!) means that our PSPs are rarely used though they actually have some of the best games ever seen on a portable console. No, really.

Most of the good games on PSP are either part of the God of War franchise (Chains of Olympus, Ghost of Sparta) or are one of the many PSP minis ; cheap downloadable games that take up 1GB or less of your PSP’s hard-drive

Age of Zombies is one of these awesome minimal-data games and frankly it’s amazing.

BURN, BABY, BURN, Disco Inferno!

Not enough people bother with PSP minis when they really should.

If you haven’t got time to read my Age of Zombies review ( click here ) then I’ll tell you exactly why you should spend less than 30 minutes downloading it.

Age of Zombies is more fun than most of the levels in Call of Duty Black Ops and is funnier than any stand-up set that is constantly aired on a loop on Comedy Central.

It’s the best side-scrolling shooter I’ve played since, well, ever.

It has a replay value worth a heck of a lot more than the £2 you’ll spend on it and it will keep you occupied longer than that D.I.Y project you started on last Summer but never finished.

You know exactly what I’m talking about.

It’s a real shame that not enough people care about the PSP to get this game but hopefully after reading this you will take pity on the little console to buy this truly ace game.

I have got this game on my iPod Touch and I have played it through several times :) I still laugh at the humour in the game, from the very start when you are introduced to “Super Badass” Barry Steakfries. :)
