Ah, E3, otherwise known as ‘video game Christmas’ or ‘the most wonderful time of the year’ due to its glorious abundance of new shiny games to lust over is in just a few days. But what about the games that we missed out on? The Editor’s award receiving, high review score garnering blockbusters that for whatever reason, we didn’t get a chance to play? With the sequels to some of these cracking titles set to be revealed at E3’s LA-based event in a few days, there’s no better time than now to pick up the brilliant games that came before that further helped to cement as franchise’s status as ‘ace’ and buy the games on a budget as Ubisoft’s massive pre-E3 sale has now gone live. Like an ever faithful steam engine, good ol’ PlayStation Plus keeps chugging along. Passengers get a delectable buffet cart of free titles every month and like the Grade A hoarder that I am, I have yet to get through them all. So, every so often I take on a PS Plus title and test its mettle and this month’s challenger is…Far Cry 3.
Far Cry 3 prides itself on its insanity, we know this by now and the open-world paradise-cum-living nightmare based game seems unlikely to step off of this crazy train any time soon.
Quite the opposite actually, as developer and publisher of the game, Ubisoft, is wielding the madness as the biggest selling point of Far Cry 3 – a smart idea considering that very few games can boast such a roaster of characters in which the majority are clinically insane.
The nutso bananas inner workings of these characters will be on show at behemoth tech conference E3 next week where Ubisoft will be partaking in a showcase of their games – Far Cry 3 included. For now, Ubisoft are only giving us a small taste of the largely deluded with a Far Cry 3 E3 teaser trailer.
