H1Z1 is the latest zombie MMO on the scene. It’s currently on Steam Early Access and despite the usual pre-release bugs and glitches, people quite like it. What people are less fond of, however, is the game’s lack of diversity. H1Z1 launched with no options to change race or gender, meaning you were out of luck if you wanted to play as a character who isn’t white or male.
Last week, John Smedley, the CEO of Daybreak (the game’s developer) promised players that female characters would be added to the game “soon”, or sometime in the next two weeks. Not only has Smedley come through on his promise, but female characters have arrived in H1Z1 ahead of the estimated date. Find out more about that, the server wipe and the t-shirt freebie after the break.
