They say that video games offer one of the most immersing user experiences in the world, providing an entirely new playing field for interactivity. It is also said that films can elicit incredible reactions from viewers, engaging them with every scene, 3D was said to take this engagement and improve on that. Tenfold. We already know that Sony are rolling out games that are set to captivate us even more, featuring 3D (and some even have PlayStation Move) support over the next year. Killzone 3’s beautifully rendered ice caps and behemoth oil rig structures will be seen in a third dimension sometime around early 2011 and you can bet that I’ll be the first in line to get a piece of the ever enthralling-3D-pie!
With all of this incredible ‘3D-ness’ in mind and with all of these amazing games and films set to be released, it only makes perfect sense for one smart, if not ‘genius’ company to start planning for this new fascinating 3D revolution by offering up 3D gaming in the home of the of the original viewing experience, the cinema.
