inFamous Second Son is still plenty of months away from launch as the Sucker Punch developed superhero title is preparing to make its debut on PS4 soon, but that’s not stopping early multiplayer rumours from swirling.
Like an asteroid from space blowing up on your front doorstep, this inFamous Second Son multiplayer rumour has been hard to avoid, and it’s even packing some substantial evidence to support it, a refreshing post-E3 change. The rumour comes from an official PS4 brochure with the inFamous Second Son listing including the telling phrase “online players TBC”.
Videogamer are the one who picked up the story and according to them, the listing for indie title Knack, which is also a single player PS4 game, featured no mention of online gaming whatsoever, suggesting that this isn’t some error doled out across the brochure.
What’s also interesting is that in an interview with GI International, Brian Fleming, co-founder of Sucker Punch Games said that inFamous Second Son would not be making its way to PS Vita, as Sucker Punch “want to do one thing at a time” during development. What this means is that the multiplayer is taking it out of them and/or wouldn’t be so easily transferrable to Sony’s flagship handheld.
Of course should this rumour prove correct and inFamous Second Son does turn out to have multiplayer, it will be intriguing to see how it plays out as multiple people attempting to pyro-power each other to death or zap each other within an inch of their characters’ lives online sounds like a promising prospect.
