A Pre Skyrim Lag Interview – in which Bethesda Make Themselves Look Silly

On Friday, when I was writing up my HGGW feature for NeverDead, it occurred to me to look through my on and offline reading archives to see what other people were saying about the game. Whilst filtering through my collection of last year’s gaming mags, I stumbled across the November issue (#212) of ‘PLAY’ – “the UK’s best-selling independent PlayStation magazine”.

I absolutely love developer interviews, there’s something about the spewing of memorised marketing jargon that just warms the cockles of my heart, but what I found when I read their interview of one of the guys from the Skyrim dev team wasn’t a collection of PR-written answers at all, and was actually an entirely different strain of conjured up bullshit altogether.

(Before you read on, I should say that this isn’t entirely a fecal-themed rant about the game, but gamesradar’s David Houghton’s has got a brilliant rage-fuelled-post on Rimlag that is exactly that – here)

Assassin’s Creed Sequel Confirmed for 2011!

Would you like to see these guys come back in a sequel?

Being completely honest with you, I haven’t even played Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood yet (single player, at least)  as I’m waiting for Santa to fit his rather rotund self in my chimney and drop it under the evergreen in my living room. However, it doesn’t take genius to listen to how everybody, everywhere is praising the game and it’s amazing-ness. I’m also not surprised to hear that another Assassin’s Creed game is in the works.

Speaking to MCV, Yves Guillemot, a CEO at Ubisoft said

Next year we will have another big Assassin’s Creed game

Woop!

Personally, based on how much fun Assassin’s Creed 2 and how great the multiplayer of Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood was, I’m already incredibly hyped up for this game!

What would you like to see in the next Assassin’s Creed game? – Leave a comment!

RAGE & Fallout 3 “They’re strikingly different games” – id Software

Welcome to RAGE.

Here’s a post for all of you gamers out there who are just like me ; wary of the fact that while Fallout 3 was an awesome game, with plenty to do and amazing gameplay to boot, the graphics weren’t great and neither was the story. Don’t worry, friend, you’re not alone if you were thinking that.

I traded in Fallout 3 after many hours of playing it, simply because I didn’t think that it was as good as everyone said it was. How’s that for brutally honest blogging, eh? I’d much rather play RAGE.

RAGE = RPG-ness at its absolute finest. Customising cars, characters and weapons, the game is everything that Fallout 3 was, only better.

I was over the moon to read this interview that id Software’s Tim Willits (Creative Director of RAGE) had with That Video Game Blog where he said the comparisons between Fallout 3 and RAGE

They’re strikingly different games

Good to know Tim, I honestly can’t wait for RAGE (even if it isn’t out until next year, harrumph!)

Also, did you know that RAGE lets you use a boomerang killing blade? Well you do now, and I bet you think it’s awesome!

Comment Question : What did you dis/like about Fallout 3?
