Many people have heard the terrifying tale of the Baba Yaga. In Slavic folklore, the Baba Yaga (who is often depicted as an old woman) flies around in a mortar and wields a pestle like a sword. Witchy and supernatural, the fictional character is known for having iron teeth and for kidnapping children.
While the story is often told to children to scare the living daylights out of them, in Rise of the Tomb Raider it’s being used as the basis for some creepy DLC. Called Baba Yaga: The Temple of the Witch, the extra gameplay mission will be available for Rise of the Tomb Raider players early next year. A new trailer for the DLC debuted at The Game Awards 2015 and you can watch it after the break.
After a romp in the Himalayas in Far Cry 4, in October Ubisoft announced that the next Far Cry game would take us back in time to the Stone Age. Called Far Cry Primal, players would play a man named Takkar who is on a quest to rule the fictional setting of Oros; but only if he could survive long enough to conqueror it.
Ubisoft explained that Far Cry Primal is full of prehistoric beasties such as woolly mammoths, sabre-toothed tigers and dire-wolves all posing a huge threat to Takkar’s life. At the time the publisher didn’t have any gameplay footage to show us but at last night’s The Game Awards 2015, the very first Far Cry Primal gameplay trailer debuted.
