UFC Undisputed 3 Hits Hard with a Demo, Trailer

UFC Undisputed 3 Screenshot 3

I’m fairly sure that the other day, Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson told us a pack of lies in that trailer for UFC Undisputed 3’s career mode. A fighting game that makes you feel actual feelings?

It must be a load of baloney. The game already has near-perfect gameplay in the ring so to fuse both elements together would be simply ludicrous.

I suppose the only way to test whether or not you’re overcome with emotions handing either Wanderlei Silva or Quinton Jackson’s ass to him, is to download the demo for the game which is out on Xbox 360 and PS3 today  – though I suspect that the only mushy-ness you’ll witness is that of either competitors body tissue once you’ve beaten him to a pulp.

Quinton Jackson Introduces UFC Undisputed 3’s Career Mode

What’s the only thing better than a fighting game with more realism than Attenborough’s BBC documentaries? A fighting game with…heart?

I thought you might say that.

THQ have just released the UK trailer for UFC Undisputed 3’s career mode, presented by the UFC’s own Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson, (I suspect that’s not his real name) who seems to be trying to convince you that the story of the game is just as important as knocking the snot out of your opponents’ faces.

Mr Rampage isn’t very convincing, we all know the game’s foundations are that of knuckle pie but the video still offers up some ground-(and pound)-shaking gameplay footage.

Hidden Gems of the Gaming World : UFC Undisputed 3

Hidden Gems of the Gaming World is a post series here on J Station X that talks about the games that you should buy (though will most likely overlook).

It’s easy to overlook the Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) genre of fighting games when you have titles like ‘Supremacy MMA’ representing their corner in the same way that rats do for the rodent community. Then there’s the fact that we have so many other fighters on store shelves, there’s EA and their aptly titled ‘EA Sports MMA’, EA again with the Fight Night series and THQ (who are also the publishers of UFC) with the series that eschews realism in every way imaginable, the WWE franchise. We’re hardly stuck for choice.

With all of those games vying for your attention, the absolute gems that are the other two games in the UFC Undisputed series as well as the upcoming addition, UFC Undisputed 3, might get passed up on. That’s why the game is this week’s Hidden Gem of the Gaming World.

Saints Row : The Third Website Lets You Track Sex Toy Related Deaths

Saints Row The Third Screenshot

A typical day in Steelport...

When I woke up this morning, that headline was the very last thing that I expected to be writing today but thank you Saints Row : The Third for changing all that.

If you’ve played the game or read any of my coverage (read : here and here) of it, you’ll know that vulgarity is what Saints Row : The Third does best and its madcap antics are not for the faint-hearted or for those who don’t find fart jokes funny so THQ are keen to show off exactly how bizarre the in-game activities are with this fresh batch of in game stats. My particular favourite is the ridiculous amount of Steelport citizens who’ve been assassinated with the use of an “Inspirational Erotic Device”. Clearly I have a mature sense of humour…

First Details on Saint’s Row : The Third (Saint’s Row 3)

Saint's Row 3 Boxart

Oooh, the new box art is SHINY!

Which fictional city is home to endless masses of gangsters, illegal activities and a main character who’s working his criminal ass off to get a taste of the high life? Grand Theft Auto’s Liberty City fits the description but the answer I am looking for is of Saint’s Row 1 & 2′s Stillwater. Over the course of he past 2 Saint’s Row games, THQ’s answer to GTA, we’ve grown to love this bustling city, from the oddball characters to the sex mini-games and now we’re being given the chance to take a 3rd trip to the fictional populace. Well, sort of…
