‘EA are the most gay friendly place to work in all of the games industry’, a bold statement? Absolutely. Is it one that can be backed up with real, actual, verifiable statistics? Again, yes. The Human Rights Campaign (HRC), who like to keep tabs on companies doing good, non-discriminatory things to their employees and treating them like plain old human beings, no matter how they identify, have rated EA a 100 out of 100 for equality in the workplace. But what does the publisher’s gay friendly status mean for their games?
In a reveal that’s about as well concealed as an elephant hiding behind a curtain, Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition was announced for next-gen consoles, PS4 and Xbox One, this weekend at the Spike VGX Awards 2013. We saw this one coming a mile off, mostly down to the fact that Amazon Italy leaked it a few weeks ago but now, letting their inconspicuous cat out of the bag, Square Enix have released a Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition trailer and announced the release date.

Microsoft executives stood to the side of the stage they’d set up in the country’s capital, watching as a host of performers and presenters pumped up the eager crowd. But during the event, a known misogynist made his way onto the stage, with the strangest thing being that Microsoft paid him to be there.
According to reports, the answer to that question is very much yes. Lara Croft could soon be back, kicking ass, taking names and breaking down gender stereotypes and expectations as Tomb Raider once again, but this time on PS4 and Xbox One. We’ve got the details after the break.

You can watch the new trailer discussing it all after the break.

While other sports sims are happy to stick trademarked titles over their new features, this NBA 2K14 video just wants to show them off and when they look this good and can be supported with real, actual gameplay, 2K would be crazy not to.
